Why do developers waste their time on movie to video game adaptions? Chances are this game will have a minimum of 14 or 13 characters. And piccolo will be the overpowered one. Simply because he is the bad guy.

In DRAGONBALL: Evolution for the PSP system, ultimate powers collide as players match up against their favorite characters from the film release and battle for control of the seven sacred Dragon Balls that have the power to grant any wish. DRAGONBALL: Evolution employs an easy-to-learn yet difficult to master fighting system which provides everyone the power to pull off stylish and dynamic attacks. Ki (energy) management will be essential to gain the upper hand and unleash a devastating attack on unsuspecting opponents.


Participating in intense battles, gamers are invited to follow the path of Goku to his predestined fight against the evil Lord Piccolo in Story mode. Players can also battle against a number of opponents in Arcade mode, accept challenges in Mission mode or hone their technique in Training mode. DRAGONBALL: Evolution also lets players challenge friends to online feats of strength in Network Battle mode for infinite+ replay value.


The motion picture DRAGONBALL: EVOLUTION, starring Justin Chatwin (War of the Worlds), Emmy Rossum (The Day After Tomorrow), Jamie Chung (Samurai Girl)) and Chow Yung Fat (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End), along with James Masters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Eriko Tamura (NBC’s “Heroes”) and international pop sensation Joon Park, will be released by Twentieth Century Fox April 8, 2009. *facepalm* Oh god... why??? Horrible idea. Why drag the DB video games down as well? First the Anime/Manga/real story, now the games? Feh. Lame idea. And I don't see this as a Dragon Ball movie, more like a disgrace to the series that's a wanna-be live action movie for the series. And this means four times the sucking. Movie video games are never good. And if the movie is going to be lame and retarded, this game will suck even more than the movie itself.

Indeed. It's very frustrating how negative people are to not only the movie, but now the game. It just seems juivenile to me, to judge these things so heavily, when they are months from being released. Especially being that each only has one trailer/vid apiece lol. But whatever, I already explained to them the foolishness in being so judgemental in the thread above this one, so I don't feel like doing it again lol. I'll actually wait until I actually have any remote experience with both the game and movie, before I say either is terrible.

Yeah, I agree. It looks like Burst Limit, but in 3D, and I've noticed there are a few extra moves in there as well. I will definitely give it a try.

okay i gave this game such a low score because it can be sumerised in two words " Shin Budokai" dragonball evolution leaves nothing to the imagination as its format is exactly the same as the dbz games on the psp its only good point is the graphics which are not that great, the idea of putting "live action" characters whilst keeping true to its anime roots gives the game a nice edge and makes the gameplay alot more captivating but quickly gets borring as it is exactly the same format as previous titles. The story is very disapointing because it does not keep the gamer entertaine for very long the story mode lasts for aprox 30 mins and only rewards your time with a few characters it does not involve any special specifics to complete stages with the exception of one mission towards the end . However the extar features do give the game a bit of dignity as it includes loads of bonus features such as bios and shots from the movie and world tournament modes although i couldnt enjoy most of these features because they were in japanese but as soon as i get it translated il let you know . Overal dragonball evolution is a let down, it has sucumbed to the norm of dragonballz games (Very repetetive and very little modifcations) as far as bad movie games go db evolution is up there :ahhh:

im not even sure the game had music hehe i wernt realy listening cos it was just a blur i think it was just basic fight music but anyway when u played shin budokai as much as i did it gets anoying i sorta liked the game but im just being realy cynical
