all that I know about computers
ok, there is too much info for me to put in one post: so i shall just continue posting in this thread bits at a time...
DO NOT FORGET the h t t p:// w w w
[you get the idea] before the links
what comes to mind...
Windows does not come with the best program to clean up the operating system
and there are many [most of them useless] programs out there to help it do it's job right
Tune up Utilities
-faster, better defragging
-clean and compress your registry for best performance
-apply custom visual styles/boot screens/logon screens.
-customize many other windows settings
megaupload.com/?d=2IXVBW1I
CCleaner
best cleaning program i've tried[and I've tried 100's]
compliments Tune-up very nice
you can find it right on top of
piriform.com
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Express[free] Edition
every programmer's dream come true? you bet
All the tools you need to start learning writing/editing code.
comes with and IDE for BASIC/C#/C++ and comes with a web developer IDE
the most useful set of tools i have ever found for my computer.
microsoft.com/express/download/
scroll to the bottom to get the OFFLINE installation
it is an ISO, but you can mount it using daemon tools
or burn it with imgburn or burnaware free.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
TIPS N TRICKS
WHAT U NEED: run
if it is not in ur start menu: thenu can find it in task manager, right under the "file"menu
change ur WINDOWS registered user/organization
"run regedit.exe and find your way to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
in the right bane there should be:"registed owner" and registered organization"
change these values to whatever you want
then "run" winver.exe to check it out
-----------
"run" msinfo32.exe to learn everything about your computer
----------------
"run" msconfig
to adjust the boot settings of your computer
do not touch the first tab unless u are undoing previously changed settings
the "boot" tab lets you control how your computer boots
"timeout" is how long you want it to wait for your selection after an improper shutdown until it chooses "start windows normally"
"noguiboot" lets u boot with the aurora "boot" screen.
sorry, but i have yet to figure out how to disable it altogether
"advanced options"box: click this to select how many processors to start your computer on[if you have DUO/QUAD]
and maximum RAM memory[only goes up to 2.75GB for 32-bit i think... touching the other stuff in there is not reconmended
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
THAT IS ALL FOR NOW.
btw, i had to type this twice cuz i accidently closed my firefox windows: so at least give a thanks.
BONUS: MY FAVORITE GAME EVER
king's Bounty
definately worth a try.
