Depends on who they are. If you are not really close i probably wouldn't care and just forget about you. But in the case of a close friend, it is never certain what may happen. They may be forgiven over time but never trusted again. I have one such case in my life now.

I have a friend who went behind my back with my girlfriend and caused us to break up. I hated him for around 2 years but I eventually forgave him. We are friends again but I don't trust him. I never tell him anything important and he knows nothing of my love life.
