Yes! iTunes has gotten Viz Media, so now everyone who has ipods can download their naruto episodes! but they only have a few of them. i personally now love iTunes just for this. :hearts:

i looked at the episodes left the other day and i did the math, and as long as after 7-26-08(date i am posting this) they dont skip weeks for reg naruto, and estimating about a month in between(hopfully not htat long tho) t should air in about 22 weeks which puts us somewhere in early to mid January of 2009

if i find out more reliable information other than my very educated guess, ill let u know

Dubs aren't bad when you do it right, but when you take a great show like Naruto, and butcher it, It pisses me off. They made Inuyasha's actors GREAT, because they picked great ones and also gave them good lines. Naruto dubbed is very limited as to what they can say, again... Because CN.


I really wish they'd just switch Naruto to a better channel, or go to Adult swim, because when they get to Shippuden, I can't imagine what lines they will give Hidan....

Because it was suppose to be the next DBZ on toonami. Ever since DBZ series ended on Toonami, ratings for Toonami went downhill. So they got Naruto (being a popular shonen jump series in japan). I don't blame Viz for liscening Naruto, but its CN that does all the editing. And I agree, some of the voice actors are either amateurs(tenten) or does not fit the character(shino's voice... yuck).

Besides, its only Naruto now thats keeping Toonami alive now.

Of course they made edits annoying to the hardcore fans so that it would be more suitable for younger children to watch, but you can't really blame them. It's their job to broadcast something that will draw in as many viewers as possible, and editing it to be more appropriate for minors will widen the range of ages viewing their channel.

Also, just to clarify, in Japan, Naruto is a children's show. It is a shonen anime, which aims for young boys. Why would Cartoon Network want to take a popular Japanese children's show and translate it into a show not meant for children? What is suitable for Japanese children programs - mainly the amount of sex and violence shown - is not suitable for American children of the same age. Obviously, in order to make this anime 'American-children safe', some changes had to be made.

I don't blame them. If people really don't like the edits made to the dub, buy the freaking uncut DVDs. And if you have problems with the voices, buy the freaking uncut DVDs and watch them with subtitles

I can only agree. It happens all the time with Japanese Anime, when it comes to America, it undergoes the Americanized change. Whenever I get the chance, I watch only Japanese w/ English subtitles. Even then, I kinda worry about whether or not they get the words right....but all in all, I just am thankful to even get to watch.

Alright now a lot have been asking what channel should they use if not CN? Well there's probably a few, I just haven't done much searching since I'm a bit lazy. But for the love of god, I'm sure more then 75% agree that Naruto could be moved to at least Adult Swim.

I'll be honest, the Naruto Dub doesn't suck, It does have It's good sides to it. But half of it they could have done a really better job with. I know they want mainly views, so of course they will cut the good parts to get younger views, but I have to ask... Why?

If this really is a young boys Japanese show, sure is a lot of blood. Then there's the Sexy-jutsu (I forgot what It's called) which is almost not even censored. In the Japanese version.

i totaly agree. my one friend's younger brother buys all the marketing crap they have. and we hate the things they make. like trading cards. who the hell would buy cards that aren't even important to naruto at all?

Look at other shonen anime - Inuyasha, Dragon Ball Z, Rurouni Kenshin, Bleach, One Piece. They all contain blood and violence, and I've seen Inuyasha if nothing else contain a good amount of nudity, more so than Naruto. Also, Ranma 1/2 - which contains more boobs than Naruto could possibly muster up, is aimed for boys in elementary and middle school. Elementary.

I'm just saying that Japanese culture is different than ours. Again, what's acceptable for children there is not necessarily acceptable for children here, thus why children's anime/manga contains the amount of nudity and violence/blood.

I wish, but to them, I'm sure that must means more work. And like most of everyone said, It's all about the money. I don't really ask for much, all I wanted to see was a great anime series go into english possibly, like Inuyasha. I was a big fan of Inuyasha, then English came, and I loved that more then the subbed! They really captured the voices almost perfectly, more then the subbed version ever possibly could.

I'll admit, Naruto's Japanese actors are a lot better then Inuyasha's, so It's going to be hard to beat people's imagination, however; I'm damn sure they could've picked better voice actors.

They've shown more things on CN in the past that was a little graphic, I can't place names since It's late and my brain doesn't work at the moment, but I'll bet they're there.


I don't know... Maybe I am ranting on this to much, I just sometimes cannot stand the script they gave the english actors, It's horrible. The voice actor like Zabuza for english and Kakashi are probably the only good ones they picked sadly...

Yes Disney shows are horrible... now can you really picture Naruto on Disney Channel..??? They wouldve messed up the show beyond reason... they would probably take out all of the violence... I think that in one country... Naruto is aired on a station called Jetix... that is owned by Disney... but it is alright on that station... I still say Cartoonnetwork is the best possible children station to air Naruto... but adult swim would be the coolest place to show it...

It's going to have to eventually go to Adult Swim, especially if CN wants to air Shippuden. There is only so much dubbing groups can do to alter wording within a foreign anime/movie/tv show. I'm sure there are also various legalities involved as well where dubbing is concerned.

it's going to have to eventually go to adult swim, especially if cn wants to air shippuden. There is only so much dubbing groups can do to alter wording within a foreign anime/movie/tv show. I'm sure there are also various legalities involved as well where dubbing is concerned.

There are plenty of other bad voice actors in Naruto that are amateurs (Temari's voice, Ino's voice, and some others that I can't name on top of my head).

But yeah, other than that I really don't have many other complaints about the dub of Naruto. Though I have to give you big time credit for making a big post like that.

I'm not sure why people have such a big problem with the dubs, the script isn't radically different from the Japanese version (even in the CN version, the only real problems I've had are when they obviously tone stuff down and do a bad job of it, "loopy" fist my butt...)

If you buy the uncut box-sets (like I do), there isn't anything to really complain about (well, there are one or two things that I think get a bit irritating, but it's pretty scattered around, so no big deal).

Yeah, I love Orochimaru's dubbed voice, I was really surprised when I found out he also did Zabuza's voice (as well as a bunch of others from other animes, like Spike from Cowboy Bebop).

They aren't going by a different timeline. They can't catch up to the Japanese too much because translating and dubbing takes time. They're in the middle of the fillers now.
