Custom titles

I think we should get custom titles. Not change our rank but have our custom titles between our post rank and and name. Like be able to put whatever we want to be called. You should be able to change it in the user cp. see example.

saiyan is doig alot of work on the fourm so maybe he didnt get to it when he was makeing them.

A lot of Forums have this feature. I think it's a good idea. Not all administrators put up the same features, even though most run on vBulletin. Saiyan said he's putting up some new features. I asked if the picture/album feature can be put up and he said by the end of the month he hopes to have some gallery feature. So he's pretty open to our ideas if you ask.

It's a good idea IBIJ. My only concern is that it's an extra place to mod since people can post something inappropriate. Removing custom titles for individual users would be hard for me to edit or remove since there are a few steps to the process.


I also don't know how to do it without removing the ranks, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard. :nervous:

People can report them, but I would still have to edit them manually which is troublesome for me. :p

Could custom titles be available trough reccomendations by mods? If one of our three (only two acting) mods new someone wouldn't abuse the feature, then they could enable it for them? And if there's someone who isn't deserving of it, they could disable it or just not let them have it at all.

It would take a long time for mod's to distinguish who would be deserving and who not...Also many people with low post counts, and thus mods being unable to determine if there good or bad, would complain.............Good thinking thuogh!

Then why don't we do it the other way around? Eeryone starts off with it, and mod will just take it away from people when they misuse it. Just like reporting or...dare I say it...Banning!

Who cares if its obnoxious or not. Custom titles are there for people to crack a joke or put something coolwithout spamming.

Put a post count limit of like 100 or 200 or make it the equivalent of a certain rank. Like chunnin or jounin.
Simple.
The idea for only veteran members as someone said is ridiculous and unfair to other members who have not been around as long.

maybe we could make a thread and when we get an idea for a new title we post it, if it's approved it's added...It would still be sort of custom... otherwise we could post what we would like it to be n a thread and if it's acceptable we can add it...

If the Saiyan is worried about custom titles being inappropriate, why doesn't he simply make it so that only a mod/admin can give them? That way, people would have to pm the admins/mods and ask them for the custom titles and if it is deemed inappropriate, then the mod/admin can simply deny their request. Simple as that.
