Dattebayo Responds...

Everyone relax...Naruto Shippuuden episodes 78-79 have been subbed and are up on all other dattebayo websites except the english ones. The reason for this is simple and quite obvious. I found a link that gets you to the dattebayo english website by-passing the message they put up but it's pointless going there because they don't have the episodes up (yet I'm sure they're done already). However, they do have a nice message for everyone.


Dattebayo Does Not Apologize for Naruto Delay

As many of you have noticed, there has been a slight delay in the release of Naruto Shippuuden this week. We would like to take this opportunity to not apologize for the delay, which like previous delays, was caused by difficulties obtaining a raw episode. Instead, we would like to wave our middle fingers at all the people who were nice enough to take time out of their busy lives (which we assume consist of living in their mothers' basements, playing WoW, and masturbating to hentai) to write us, call us assholes or *****es, tell us we suck, and let us know that we deserve to rot in hell because we are taking "4eva" to sub the episode. Thanks!

I'm as frustrated as all of you...but I understand where they're coming from. Eventually their normal website will be back up but until then, consider it punishment for all the people who piss them off. Unfortunately, a few rotten apples ruin it for the majority of people who appreciate the work they do. That's the latest for now, and we all we just have to be patient (as painful as that may be for some of you).

ya know u people have no right to riot, their not necessarily obligated to do these subs. they could just stop at any given moment. u just gotta learn to either read the manga, learn japanese, or just grow up and wait patiently.

Got to love people who ruin it for everyone else, i've been patiently waiting every week for the episodes, and a few people have to go and make it take longer cause they ticked the subbers off... and subbing isn't easy, there's more then just translating to it, that's the easy part. So if your one of the ones bothering them quit it or do it yourself and show them how it should be done

I guess this is the issue with something that gets as popular as Shippuuden. Mouthbreather fanboys and fangirls clamoring to get their fix like nothing else in the world matters are the bane of DB's existence, so to speak, and those people might want to consider that the world will not end if we have to wait a few more days to watch a CARTOON. Which is not technically supposed to be available to most people outside of Japan ANYWAYS.

Consider maybe sending them a thank-you every once in a while for the favor they do the rest of us. After all, do you really expect them to cringe and wring their hands apologetically when they read "U SUKS I H* U 4EVR CUZ SHIP78-79 NOT SUBBED DONT B LAZY?" Be realistic. Taunting and flaming never encourages anyone to do anything for you.

On a more positive note, thank you to all the reasonable people who get what I'm saying already.

EDIT: I agree that DB aren't being terrbily civil about the whole thing, but if we stop flaming them they will have no reason to frustrate at us. Being a jerk only breeds more of the same, after all.

Anyway I know people are upset about the DB translations, I was upset on thursday and friday and now today but I will say this. Im very grateful of DB for translating this anime because if I ever had to watch the english dub version I would attempt suicide on a weekly basis. Everything from the voices to what they actually say is something no naruto fan should ever be forced to tolerate.

DB doesnt do the box sets right?

Anyway looking forward to understanding the new naruto episode since I was watching the RAW. Even that is better than english dubs but subs should be coming soon so we should all be prepping celebration.

Amen to that. To think we'd be waiting years to be watching Shipuuden or only be limited to the RAW versions. If DB says not to message them with any requests I dont understand whats so difficult about following that simple instruction. I hope they arent angry enough to hold the subbed episodes til late next week or something. That would be cruel. I'm already damning myself for not knowing japanese, that would be the simple solution to this problem.

I don’t know why immature people have to go and curse them for, they doing us a big favour but subbing the narutos. Everyone should be grateful to them even though I think they should get of their horse something yahmean

over the last few nights some jack asses were tryna gather up everyone to spam them saying they were stupid bla, bla, bla ass^&^'s and that would "help" the situation then they would be "forced" to sub the episode for us for "free". Sadly there are hundreds of thousands of noobs like this around the net and especially Naruto. I'm glad I found a good group of peeps here. And ye, when U don't get paid to do this, you have to work around your life to do it. And it's not like they've been putting up with this for awhile , probably been for years. Not to mention when I was reading around the site they had said they let go of some of the volunteers that sub. So that could have been a reason. I am not sure cuz I don't really 'member ATM , but I think TimeCop did the majority of this one. And remmeber, these are guys PROBABLY with a sense of humor. If they were this mad at us for wanting it they PROBABLY would have not gave it to us. It's most likely friend that talks sh*T to ya but doesn't mean it.

Their response was inadequate, yet it still was basically telling the truth. They put so much effort in subbing the episodes, so we could have the Japanese version, packed with emotion, great sounds,... Suddenly some @sshole comes over, and tells you you are a dick. I'd slap them in the face. Seriously.

Well, when bullshit comes knocking at your door, you will either TRY to ignore it or do something about it. Dattebayo got tired of ignoring it and spoke their mind, simply as that.

Anyway, I'm glad someone takes the time out to sub animes, cuz I know I would be totally lost trying to listening to their conversations. :p I understand some words and phrases, but not as good. So Dattebayo and whomever else does those anime translations are cool people in my book. :D

Sending threats and flames only works if you have some kind of leverage. If someone sends DB hate mail telling them to sub faster, the only thing the person can do to back up their words is hope that DB feels guilty. I would take this opportunity to point out that they do not, but they already said that for me. So go ahead, be pissed at their response. Just understand that the more time they spend reading hate mail, the longer it takes for them to give us what we want.

And Cheesehat, I can understand your frustration, but DB isn't out to screw you royally. Take a moment to breathe deep, correct your spelling, and put things in perspective.
