Ok, so i'm selling my U.S. PS2 and gonna get a Jap. PS2.

Do you guys think this is a good idea?

The first game i'm buying for it will probably be Naruto Narutimate Accel 2.

aint got no idea...i really wanna buy a ps3 this year or tha beginnin' of tha next...so i aint that interested in tha ps2

no i don't think that is a good idea... since the ps2 is region locked unlike the ps3....

..........it means that the ps2's software can only be used with software in some regions of the world

Not rly. I have an american PS2 and i play Narutimate accel 2 on there not using a mod chip at all. i just use the swap magic disc.

without special equipment an american ps2 can only play american games
and a japanese ps2 can only play japanese games.... it will work but you won't be able to play the american ps2 games that you have already purchased for it


an american ps3 can play american ps2 games and any ps3 game from any country

Well I dont know the big deal about getting a japense ps2, you should take other peoples advise like the guy above me and get a ps3 instead but dont forget if you get a japanese ps2, you will need a plug converter since I do not think they use the same style plugs and outlets in that part of the world (or is it just europe, still get a plug converter to be safe) :cool:.
