They have walkie-talkie type communication devices and trains (although the latter is not canon) too... There's also telephone poles... XD

Technology plays a minor role in the series, but it's funny, cool, and odd seeing stuff like that...

I don't think we'll ever see a gun in the Narutoverse by the way... That will ruin the purpose of kunais, shurikens, and other projectiles and certain jutsu...

And they have potatoe chips in bags and movie theaters. The hidden Ninja villages are not totally modernized but have incorporated some of the luxuries while maintaing traditional japanese meji era culture.

No, I do not believe we have seen telephones. The telephone lines are probably more of electric or power lines.

Well, Ino and her dad can telepathically speak...
And telephones would kinda defeat the purpose of those messenger hawks, so I guess there aren't.

Not really.

They are a hidden village, why would they want phone lines showing them up?

As for cars, they can move faster than cars, why would they want them?

Guns would be pretty useless against ninja too...

I'm pretty sure they have all these things in the civilian world though.

Interesting. They don't really seem that hidden to me. People can just walk in and out as they please and they aren't really hidden in some super secret location :D

But the five great nations and their villages are famous, why wouldn't people know? The bridge builder (way back during the fight with Zabuza) knew about them. That is how the ninja get jobs to do to bring in money for the village.

Maybe they were more of a secret during the ninja wars and when they were first formed, but that secrecy slackened during times of peace and with the formation of alliances.

If there were such technology, it would undermine a lot of purposes for what is already set in place, as shown by some posts above.

I'm pretty sure Kishi has omitted these for a reason.
