Its gives anime a bad name. The anime in America suck really badly. Thats why every thinks anime is for geeks because, truly, it does look amazingly gay. I try watching Naruto with dubs sometimes but I just cant bring myself to watch a whole episode. The awesome Japanese culture made created manga and anime, please leave it to them to continue it.

I don't think you should label all bad, some are pretty good. Two I can name right now are Yu Yu Hakusho and Inuyasha (although Kagome's was pretty annoying, but she'd annoy me no matter who the voice). I'd say Fullmetal Alchemist, too, but I haven't watched all of that...

Fullmetal Alchemist I actually prefer in English. You are right on that one, Inuyasha, in my opionion is a gay anime and the dubs suck in that one really badly too. I dont know about Yu Yu Hakasho

I think you're wasting your time then. If you dislike it so much, what's the point in watching it? And if you didn't watch it, you wouldn't have anything to complain about, so don't say you don't.

They do not sound like dorks. They sound exactly like they should, which is why I prefer their voices in dub. Sakura sounds like a 12 year old, lovesick girl, because that's what she is. Their voices fit their personalities and age, and have gradually matured, in my opinion.

Like kitteh said, sometimes the english dubs are great, case in point, FLCL. The english cast for that anime is incredible, superb, and just damn awesome. Oh and I can't wait for when they have to show Hidan in the American anime. Seriously, how the **** are they going to pull that one off? *laughs*

The dub voices in my opinion are not as good as the original, however, even though the dub voices are annoying, what i think is more annoying is the fact that the english dub censors and edits scenes.

they won't do that... CN's version is for kids below 13. So they won't have the curse words and stuff in it. They take those out, they add other crap to it.

In fact, I acually like all the voices that they got. I think it depends on which language you watch it. If you watch the Japanese ones, then you most likely-like the voices. I sometimes watch the Japnease ones, but I don't like the way they sound. And I think that's because I watched the English version first.:eek:

in the rooftop battle between sasuke and naruto, subbed he says shit and dubbed he says blast. personally shit sounds like he is more pissed and desperate. also, when Itachi kills his clan in the flashbacks, a green screen comes in to not show the blood spill. and in the very beginning when naruto stabs his hand, they dont show it. wow what poor grammar for me.. just some instances mentioned here

Sometimes the characters sound the same. The Japanese voices and the American voices then sometimes there different. I just stick with Japanese verison, I like Japan's version much better.

One thing I disagree with you on is the censoring of the language. In Naruto, there is a good amount of cussing, especially from certain characters such as Tayuya and Hidan, but in the english version, there is little to no cussing. Words like fatass being replaced with fatty. It just kind of bothers me, especially how they portrayed Tayuya. And the whole 'loopy fist' thing made me want to kill somebody. The name was ridiculous, it annoyed me how they replaced the word sake with elixir, and I still don't know why they edited off the blush on Lee's cheeks. Seriously, what was the point of that?

Seriously the cut out like little details, and it's kinda retarded too. If you look at the earlier episodes where Naruto does his Sexy Jutsu, and Ebisu or Iruka fly with blood splurting from their noses, you can tell they take that part out in the American version, because they want the show to be "kid friendly." It's stupid because they even take out the blood in some scenes so kids aren't like "BLOOD!"

For Naruto: Shippuden, they better put it on Adult Swim, but I doubt it. If they don't, they are going to have to pretty much take out all the cussing that they do in Shippuden, especially when they get to the Hidan. I'm going to laugh if they make him say "Poop" instead of "Sh*t". For example, remember Tayuya? She cussed a lot, and it made me laugh a lot, but when I watched the english version of Naruto and they reached the point of where it introduced the Sound Four, Tayuya didn't even say one bad word, and I was TOTALLY disappointed. I can understand because kids who watch Naruto can be like 7 and 8 year olds, but still. It wasn't funny when they had Tayuya say "Fatso" to Jirobo instead of "Fata**"

Kakashi's mouth flaps are the worst to work with, somebody told me on the forums too so don't go around saying that it isn't. Sorry, it was just too easy. They don't do that. It would just be a waste of their time because it's not that hard to match the words with the mouth flaps. They just mess up a few times. They do their best with what they got.

When I first got into Naruto, I watched it on Cartoon Network and I didn't think there was anything wrong with it. But then I came across the original Japanese version. I must say that if sombody had to voice an English Naruto, Cartoon Network picked the best voice actor that sounds closest to the Japanese Naruto as they could. The truth is though that an English Naruto just sounds bad.

I really don't like anybody else's english voice, except for Sasukes. His english voice actor really seems to capture how Sasuke is suposed to sound. I like how he says Naruto. He says it how a Japanese person would say Naruto instead of how an American person would say Naruto.

Hey S-kun they have said hell in naruto on CN before. It was after sasukes fight in the chunin exams and sasuke got his curse seal sealed and then orochamaru showed up and then they had the trailer to the next episode kakashi said "what kind of snake whole out of hell did you come out of." But some anime are truly ruined by the dub. Sailor moon for instance. It was ok in the japanese, and intended for young adults. but in the english version it was for little kids.Ok there are so many things wrong with the dub i don't even know where to start. but there was one version of the anime, 'Sailor Stars' that was never dubbed because it has transsexuals in it.

By the way does anyone know if there's actually a different dub for the UK for Naruto. Because I read about it somewhere and it sounded ****ing hilarious.

Man I'm sick and tired of you people hating on your own language! Just because its Jap-o-nese doesnt mean its better. On my opinion, the voices sound waaaaayyyy better in English. Every villain actually has his own voice in the English dub and they sound much more intimadating. I HATE the Japanese Kisame voice but love the English one. Sure the dub has minor setbacks like the fact that its waaayy too censored, but thats why they have the uncut box sets.

It's really pathetic. It's JUST as good if not BETTER than the sub. The only reason some people think differently is because they let the weeaboo's or japanese crazed fans manipulate them. The sub voices sound completely out of character. They all sound WAY over aged, the only one who sounds like he should is Naruto.

In fact, the dubbed Naruto is nearly the same exact voice as the sub. The characters in the dub ALL sound like they should. Kids. THat's the basis of it. Don't pull off that "Believe It" crap, Naruto stopped saying that after episode 50. Sure the voices in the beginning where pretty crap, however, they matured and their voices completely fit the cast.

I love the insane variety, unlike the sub where every villian seems to have the same tone. Sub gets annoying and if you honestly watch it without subtitles, you'll find how ANNOYING the voices can be. The dub does NOT edit a whole bunch of crap. In fact, a large amount of blood and pretty mature language is still in the show. They even showed the filler where Naruto's heart was connected to that guys heart or w/e.

You guys all need to remember that the Naruto shown on CN has to meet certain guidelines which are completely different from the Japanese TV standards. Watch the uncut DVD dubs and it makes quite a bit more sense.

Moi, with poor imagination, finds it hard to understand the manga. i still read it tho coz i wanna know what happens next. but as soon as pages dont have words in them, then i just click to the next one. :D Shippuuden manga isnt that bad, but i would LOVE to see the chapters in action.

As for subs and dubs, i go for Subs. some voices do sound a bit stupid when they're dubbed in English. Prolly bcoz im used to Jap Subs. but there are voices in English that i still find really cool like Kakashi's and Shikamaru voices. I think they fit in the characters.

In general tho, i've always watched any movies with captions/subtitles. I really didnt mind the reading and all that. it helps me to understand the whole story even more.

i like the dub better, cuz in the sub you focus more on the subtitles instead of the show. on the the japanese version, since sasuke and uryuu(bleach) are the same voice actor, i imagine sasuke as uryuu now XD I like sasuke's voice better in dub. I watch shows with sasuke's voice in it. So i just imagine the person with sasuke's voice to be sasuke XD i cant do that with japanese versions, too hard.

ok lemme be as clear as i can i know that some naruto fans hate his voice how it is. but i read somewere on another thread that narutos voice will not be changed in shippuden, this is by far very suckish and stupid although im pretty sure his voice will be more mature. I heard rumors that narutos voice will be from the same guy who did robins voice from teen titans. share your thoughts.

Hmmm... I kinda got used to naruto's dub voice.... I think it would be better if the person who does his dub voice now.... did it for shippuuden too... just with a deeper voice tho... and idk anything about that robin from teen titans rumor... but if that guy does end up doing naruto's shippuuden voice... then in my opinion... it would sound kinda weird...

First, i think Naruto's voice actor is doing a good job. Second, the guy who does Robin couldn't pull Naruto off so I hope the keep Mailey Flanagan as his voice actor.
