Saiyan said its just temp, but i doubt he'll put back the old one. that crashed the whole forum site.

ive noticed ur having problems using the flash chatbox coz u cant browse the forums while ur in there.

to chat and browse on the forums at the same time, u need to open another browser for the forum. so u got 2 forum browsers open. one is the forum HP where u can check the posts and other one is the Chatbox thread where u can chat.

or u can open another browser and go to geesee.com and sign in there. i think u need to sign up to be able to chat direct. then search for the room "saiyanisland". then u can chat.

i know its laggin most of the time. my firefox gives up on me too. but this is just temp so we'll just gonna have to deal with it while Saiyan fixes everything.

There have been many complaints from users, about the random people that arent from SI entering the chatroom. So a chatroom has been made, for only us from SI. if you all are willing to try this out then it would be great http://www.geesee.com/sys/geesee.ashx?chatid=1&defaultroomname=SI%20chat
If you want the password to enter, ask me, emoninja, Vaimond, or sasori for the password.
But be aware that this chat is not official yet without saiyan's permission.

So you guys may have noticed that the old chat box from the main forums page is gone. The reason is that it was causing huge increases in the server load, which ultimately lead to slow downs and that 2-3 hours of downtime which we had. :cry:

Until I can come up with a solution to bring the old chatbox back, I have set up this flash chat so we still have some quick chat functionality available. Let me know what you guys think!

By the way, because the chat is independent from Saiyan Island, you'll be logged in as guest and will have to manually change your nick name. To change your nick name, click the avatar next to the area where you type in the chatbox.


EDIT: The new chat on geese has been locked. There are too many arguments and it's hard for me to keep a watch. So soon I hope to bring back the old chat where I can make sure all convos are peaceful and everybody is happy.

but then they also have the random players who make up the team... ppl like Glen Davis, Eddie House, Rajon Rondo, and the fans...which is like me, u, and every1 else whose not saiyan yoruichi, + hikaru on the forum... without those random players the Celtics may not have won the champsionship.... and without us random ppl on SI like u PK we would not be the same SI..


btw... Lakers will win in 2009 when Bynum comes back... they got Kobe and Pau and Odom...but they need the extra guy like Bynum to take'em to the top... or an injury to a key Celt work 2...

Nah, it was just the chat itself since anybody could use another forum members username to chat. It was just hard to moderate and wasn't really part of Saiyan Island.

From my experience with IRC, everybody's IP is generally visible to one another. And if your IP is visible, it puts you at risk for being hacked, so that's why having an IRC chat would not be a good thing here.

You can't be hacked by IP? If someone had experience with .XR bots and such, they could ping you offline.. But that's a whole different story.

Okay why don't you just make like a link that takes you to the chatbox. Where there is only just a chabox that's it. That might not cuase the server to get full a lot.
