It is an awesome series, but to be honest I lost interest in the manga after L died and never really got into the anime. So I've never read the ending. Lol.

Death Note has got to be the best Psychological Thriller Anime ever created. Love the cat and mouse games between L and Light, but the series ended too quickly, Near beat Kira in a way too simple way. L woud've done it much more intricatly...

Light's final plan wasn't intricate enough if I were Light I would make Mikami do a material analysis before coming to the warehouse and if the materials that made up the Death Note could be found on Earth then I would make him write everybodies name but Near's in the fake notebook so Near or Nate River would be considered Kira and I could conquere the world again proving my point that Light's final plan was beneath his level of mental power.

Death Note is the smartest anime or manga i know. it was so well put together. My favortie character's are L, Near and yes...Kira. Only because he is insanely psycho. Dont know why, but characters like that catch my attention. haha

Death note is my favorite anime/manga. i've read the first 9 or so books, but i pretty much know the rest of the story and saw the last 3 anime episodes. i recommend it to anyone, because death note truly is great.

You know how if you use the Death Note and die you go to MU[or nothingness] instead they
should become a Shinigami and go to the Shinigami Realm.

Here is how the people named died:Light was killed by Ryuk. Misa killed herself with the Death Note. Light's Dad was killed by a member of the mob that worked with Mello. Takuda was died in a fire Light and Mikami wrote her name but set different times of death[so they didn't cancel each other out]. Takuda wrote Mello's name on a page of the Death Note. L and Watari died because Rem wrote their names in her note book. Rem died because she saved Misa's life by killing humans that shortened her life span.

This is one of the best animes to ever be created, and if you're looking for overpowered Ninjas/Souls/Demons/Aliens fighting, I wouldnt recommend this...Its much better than that though, with the never ending plot twist and the suspense is just overwhelming from beginning to end.

I just recently started to watch Death Note last weekend, and it's AWESOME!!!!!!! It's such a great thriller! But I wish they gave more information about L...he's such a cool character, though I wonder why he acts strangely. But what was sort of funny was in episode....um....I forgot but anyway Light and L are at this cafe, and Light tells him that no one will give L a hard time on how he sits. Then L replies saying that if he doesn't sit like that, then his deductive skills go down 40%....weird huh?

I'm on episode 16 I think...can't wait to watch it!

i thought death note was brilliant when i started to watch it, it was so interesting and new, but at around episodes 21-22 i found things got really repetitive and boring and stopped watching...but i guess i should at least finish it to see what happens...(i actually know what happens thanks to some friends who like to spoil everything:mad:)

i love Death Note. It took me around 3 days to finish watchin the whole series. and it was one of the best animes ive seen. L is one awesome character.

Also it has a great story line, the only thing is that they put all the exciting stuff at the begining of the story and because of that it gets boring around episodes 25-30

Death Note rocks! It's very detailed anime that is intelligently written. It's especially good for those seeking out less cartoonish and more adult works.
It poses realistic concepts such as execution on a massive scale and weather or not it is for the benefit greater good. Also to observe the "chess match" between L and Light unfold and then to see Light's eventual descent into insanity was about the best story telling I've seen in anime thus far.

Its an Anime for intellectuals, but the reason why i don't like it is cause it just bores me and i Loved Paranoia Agent(somewhat similar to Death Note).

Light didn't really get shot to death, he was killed by Ryuk. Light was gonna go to prison or something so Ryuk didn't wanna wait until he is dead so he killed Light by his own death note xD

if you liked death note i highly recommend you try code geass its the same thing lelouch wants to create a world were his sister can find peace! Man even some of the characters are the same like that girl who liked light forgot her name but theres this other girl who likes lelouch n stuff they have the same personality. so i recommend it its same as death note except it has robots so its death note + zoids = code geass
