Why WAS DBZ so sucessfull ?!

i just wana know peoples opinions of why they liked it and why it was so succesfull i belive it was because people (the non japanese) were under the impresion that it was a cartoon not an anime so people felt more comfertable with it i was quite young when it came out in the uk so i wasnt realy aware of anime and always belived it was a cartoon

Because it is successor to the successful and extremely loved Dragon Ball. People who loved Dragon Ball mostly loved this series as well. DB and DBZ are good series with lots of action and adventure. People got into the characters of the series, also like the series before it. This Anime also had a couple of Anime firsts that some Animes didn't have back then. Dragon Ball/DBZ also inspired some other Animes as well, as we see today. The whole DB series became as legend, and is one of these greatest Anime that has been brought into Anime history. But I can say "Why is this Anime also successful?" about any other Anime, like for example: Naruto. But I won't. lol. =/ When I was a child watching DBZ, I didn't even know what "Anime" was or it even existed, but I knew it was different than the average cartoon because it was like no other American cartoon in it's time. Back then, DB as whole series was unique, and it's still even today.

The series ended it's run with Toonami/Cartoon Network, and right before the years of Toonami turned into a slowly dying block. They did bring it back in 2006/2007 for Toonami, but they took it off before Toonami ended in 2008. I guess Cartoon Network has every Anime's contract expired when the Anime ends it's run, or they don't bother to renew the contract for the show and continue to air it on their channel anymore.

Yeah, they did release DB after DBZ also in America, and probably the rest of the whole world besides Japan. I did include my bit on why I liked DBZ "Lots of action and adventure". And I counted that for DB (for the Japanese audiance) and DBZ (for myself and the rest of the people in the world who watched DBZ first). I did know what was going on back then. ;D

Did you know that DBZ was turned down by cartoonnetwork more than once in the US?

Anyway, DBZ was a show anyone could get into pretty fast.
The plot was simple, the action was wayyy ahead of its time, I could go on and on... :laugh:

Because, DBZ has a amazing storyline and cool characters with techiques which blasts out from their hands and which people often buy fighting shows/manga's.

I'd say, DBZ was the most sucessful Manga/Anime that ever been created.

Because DBZ has a storyline like what Dazzel says and has a lot of episodes that they like too see.Maybe,That episodes or storyline will do in by day like today finish tat episodes or storyline.It will be continue tommorow.DBZ also a lot of cool characters and powerful characters which can use their hand to blasts out.It is also came out im Anime/Manga that they like to see too.Thanks.
